We know how much you value your money and we’d like to help you get the most out of the products you purchased. Here are some tips to make your aluminum baking pans last a lifetime! Kitchenatics aluminum baking pans are lightweight yet durable and they certainly last a lifetime when cleaned and maintained properly.
One of the concerns that our customers relay to us is that the baking pans became discolored after the first wash. Upon careful investigation, most of them did not read the package instructions and used the baking pan in the dish washer. Out of habit, it is easier for us to just toss things in the dish washer especially when we’re already too tired to clean up. Thus, sometimes the baking pan accidentally ends up in the dish washer. This could also be the case when one of the members of the family has no idea that aluminum is not dishwasher-safe.
Here are some helpful tips on how to properly care and maintain your aluminum baking pans.
Proper Care of Your Aluminum Baking Pans
One thing I like most about aluminum bake ware and cookware is that they are lightweight. This is helpful when roasting turkey or a large pot roast. Also, aluminum is a good thermal conductor. This means that it conducts heat better and cooks food faster.
However, aluminum is not safe for use in the dishwasher. Why is that? Most dish washing soaps contain harsh chemicals and salts that damage the aluminum. This causes the aluminum baking pan to discolor, corrode or show signs of pitting.
Also, before you rinse the aluminum baking pan, make sure to let it cool first. Abrupt changes in temperature may cause the pan to deform. The best way to clean tough stains and grease on the aluminum baking pan is to soak it in hot soapy water.
Make sure to dry your aluminum baking pan, too, before storing. As you will notice, the aluminum pan has small crevices where water may seep through and collect. Therefore, it is best to dry them well, especially the corners, before placing them in the cupboard.
Make sure you follow these cleaning and maintenance instructions so that your aluminum bake ware and cook ware lasts longer.
