I love munching on snacks wherever and whatever I’m doing. Driving, working, or even while cooking – I always have a bowl or bag of snacks handy. One of my favorite snacks are sugar-free pecans. Nuts are great snacks because they are good sources of protein, fiber, and healthy fats. Nuts also reduce bad cholesterol and decrease the likelihood of high blood pressure.
Pecans are among the healthy nuts. Although they are used often for desserts, they are quite tasty on their own. Studies show that pecans lower LDL or bad cholesterol and are a rich source of antioxidants.
Why I Love Sugar-free Pecans
Since I am keen on taking on this journey to a healthier lifestyle, I am really intent on following a low carb or sugar-free diet. Of course, I have to give in to my cravings, too, so I need to find alternatives. Being on a diet doesn’t mean that you have to deprive yourself, you just need to find healthier alternatives.
That is how I came up with these sugar-free pecans. The nutty taste coupled with the sweet and spicy blend of cinnamon are really addictive! I could finish a large bowl in one sitting! I always prepare 2 batches and keep them in airtight jars. I also have mason jars in my workspace and even in the bedroom. I see to it that I have a bag of them in my bag for road trips and errands.
Let’s Try Them!
I’d like to share with you this recipe of sugar-free candied pecans. Even the kids love it! I even made some as giveaway treats during a birthday party I attended. I helped out a friend with the loot bags and decided to give out healthy snacks. Word of caution though, make sure the person does not have an allergic reaction to nuts before servings this to them.
