Whenever I run out of meal ideas to cook, stir fry healthy recipes always save the day! When I cook meat or chicken, I always save some for leftovers because I use them for soups, sandwiches, and stir-fried rice. The best thing about stir fry is that you can use chicken, meat, seafood, or just veggies and they are already a complete meal. Usually, I make some stir fry with rice for breakfast to kick start the day.
A friend of mine shared her recipe for stir-fried rice in chicken, shrimp, and with noodles. I love how the different flavors and colors come together in such a simple dish!
Ideas for Stir Fry Ingredients
You just have to be creative when cooking recipes for stir-fried rice. You can have stir-fried chicken, stir-fried pork, stir-fried veggies, or even stir-fried noodles! Stir fried recipes are easy to prepare because they take less time to prepare. As the name suggests, you just stir-fry them for a few minutes. This is because most of the ingredients are either pre-cooked or easy to cook. One of the favorites in our family is — you guessed it — stir fried rice with bacon!
The basics for stir fry ingredients are veggies, your choice of meat, your choice of sauce, and add-ins such as spring onions, scrambled eggs, or noodles. The secret lies in the flavor of the meat and the sauce. You can even customize the sauce according to preference if you want it sweet, spicy, or a bit salty. I like mine with a dash of sriracha, especially if it’s seafood. And lots of garlic! I even sprinkle garlic bits on top of my stir fried rice.

Recipe for Stir-Fried Rice and Noodles
Ingredients
Stir-Fried Rice with Chicken and Veggies
- 1 lb chicken thighs sliced into chunks
- 4 cloves minced garlic
- 1 tsp fresh minced ginger
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 cup broccoli cut into florets
- 1 piece small carrot julienned
- 8 oz sliced mushrooms
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp sugar
- salt and pepper to taste
- 4-5 cups cooked rice
Stir-fried Rice with Shrimps and Veggies
- 1 lb shrimp peeled and deveined
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 small head of broccoli cut into florets
- 4 cloves minced garlic
- 1 tsp minced ginger
- 2 tsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 juice of lime
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- salt and pepper to taste
- 4-5 cups cooked rice
Instructions
How to Make Stir-fried Rice with Chicken and Veggies
- In a large wok or pan, heat some oil over medium high heat. Add the butter, onions, ginger and garlic and stir-fry for about a minute or until fragrant.
- Add the chicken thighs and cook until golden brown. Season with salt and pepper.
- Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar. Mix well to combine.
- Add the carrots and cook for a minute.
- Add the mushrooms and broccoli and stir-fry until the broccoli turn dark green.
- Add the cooked rice and stir-fry until all the ingredients are well combined. and the rice is heated through.
- Season with salt and pepper as needed.
How to Make Stir-Fried Rice with Shrimp and Veggies
- In a large wok, heat oil over medium high heat.
- Add the onions, garlic, and ginger and stir-fry until fragrant.
- Add the shrimps and cook until the shrimp changes color or looks like a letter "C."
- Add soy sauce, lime, red pepper flakes and sugar and mix well to combine the flavors.
- Add the cooked rice, season with salt and pepper. Stir-fry until the ingredients are combined and the rice is heated through.
