Easy Pork Recipe with Chunky Applesauce
- 3/4 tsp salt divided
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 lb pork tenderloin trimmed and sliced crosswise into small pieces
- 2 tbsp canola oil divided
- 1 piece Gala apple cored and chopped
- 1 piece Granny Smith apple cored and chopped
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- fresh parsley leaves
- Season the pork with 1/2 tsp salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp oil over medium heat. Swirl oil to coat skillet and cook pork for at least 2 minutes on each side or based on your preferred doneness. Remove from pan.
- In the same pan, add the remaining oil. Add apples and 1/2 cup water. Cook for about 6 minutes, covered, or until the apples are tender.
- Season the apples with salt, sugar, and cinnamon. Cook uncovered for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until the apples soften and most of the liquid has evaporated and become syrupy.
- Serve the pork with the applesauce mixture and garmish with freshly chopped parsley.
