A: Yes. 304-grade stainless steel is food-safe, non-reactive, and contains no artificial coatings, so it will not leach chemicals into food at high heat. It’s the same grade used in commercial kitchen equipment and surgical instruments, which is why Kitchenatics uses it for all cooling and roasting racks.

A: Kitchenatics racks are 100% 304-grade stainless steel with no chrome plating or nonstick coating. Chrome-plated and coated racks can flake or release chemicals into food at high temperatures over time; solid stainless steel doesn’t chip, peel, or corrode, so there’s nothing to leach.

A: Yes. All Kitchenatics stainless steel racks and aluminum pans are made without PTFE, PFOA, or other nonstick chemical coatings. The racks are solid 304 stainless steel and the pans are uncoated aluminum, so there’s no coating that can degrade or transfer to food.

Stainless Steel Cooling Racks - Use & Care

A: Yes. Kitchenatics stainless steel racks are oven-safe up to 575°F (302°C) and safe to use directly on a grill or in a smoker. Because they’re solid stainless steel with no coating, there’s no temperature-related breakdown to worry about, unlike coated or chrome racks.

A: Kitchenatics cooling racks are 100% dishwasher-safe — simply run them through a normal cycle. For oven or grill use, a light coat of oil before cooking helps prevent food from sticking and makes cleanup easier. Do not use the rack in a microwave.

A: Fill a sink or sheet pan with hot water, ½ cup of dish detergent, and a few tablespoons of baking soda (a splash of lemon juice helps with odor). Submerge the rack and let it soak for 4 hours or overnight, then scrub both sides with a dish brush or non-scratch pad, rinse with cold water, and dry — or finish in the dishwasher.

A: No. Because the rack is 304-grade stainless steel rather than plated steel, it will not rust or corrode with normal use — including regular dishwasher cycles. Just make sure it’s fully dry before long-term storage to prevent moisture from sitting in tight crevices.

Baking Pan & Rack Set

A: The aluminum baking pan is not dishwasher-safe but is easy to hand wash with a nylon pad or sponge and warm, soapy water. For easier cleanup, line the pan with foil or parchment before baking or roasting.

A: Warping is usually caused by thin-gauge metal reacting to sudden temperature changes, so avoid placing a cold pan directly into a fully preheated oven, and don’t run a hot pan under cold water. Kitchenatics’ baking pans use a heavier gauge specifically to resist warping under normal home-oven use, up to 500°F (260°C).

A: We recommend silicone, wood, or nylon utensils instead of sharp metal ones. The pan’s aluminum surface can scratch under metal utensils, which shortens its lifespan even though the pan itself is oven-safe up to 500°F (260°C).

A: The pan is uncoated aluminum, ideal for even heat distribution when baking or roasting directly. A: Yes, within the 500°F (260°C) limit. For direct grill use, keep the pan on indirect heat when possible to avoid warping from concentrated flame, and always use a heat-safe surface underneath when removing it.
